Sometimes, despite our best efforts to save a tooth, an extraction is the healthiest choice. At Cedars Family Dental, we offer both simple and surgical extractions and will take the time to make sure you understand your options and feel comfortable with the plan for your care.
Every extraction is different. Dr. Barbosa will evaluate your individual needs and help determine the best and most comfortable approach for you. Treatment may be completed in our office with local anesthesia, with the addition of an oral medication when appropriate to help ease anxiety, or through a referral to a trusted local oral surgeon or periodontist. While we are able to remove some wisdom teeth in our office, Dr. Barbosa will determine whether an in-office extraction is appropriate based on the position and complexity of the tooth.
If you are considering replacing a tooth with a dental implant in the future, we can often perform a bone graft at the time of extraction to help preserve the bone and prepare the area for future implant placement.
